Being invisible

Have you ever felt invisible? On the up side - how cool is it to be able to blend in and observe without being noticed? Get all the info but don't worry about the hassle of being bothered with contributing. But maybe blending in is not the deal. Maybe invisibility isn't such a good thing. Most of the time it's forced, not chosen. It's due to an unassuming nature. Lack of a powerful presence or personality. Tongue-tiedness when more than one person is listening. Can God do anything with that? I wonder sometimes... And yet, I've seen Him do it. I've seen God work on behalf of those who wait for Him. He's done it in my life consistently.

So maybe invisibility has been a good thing - and not just so we don't have to act and participate in the story that's unfolding around us. Maybe it's not a curse, but rather a proving ground. A primer for being moved by God rather than constantly rushing ahead of Him.

Maybe. It's just a thought.
