Breaking the fast

I've fasted for one week from blogging. (Actually - I just wanted to excuse my laziness while contributing to an increasing perception of my super-spirituality) So, yeah - I have just not been paying attention to this... My apologies to all of my faithful readers. :)

I spent more time with middle-school students in the past week than I have since I was in middle school. I taught at the retreat at Bluegrass Christian Camp this past weekend and then got to serve as lead worshipper at the mid-week program last night. It's been fun. The most enjoyable time was getting to just sit and talk with students during the meals at the retreat. The kids were a ton of fun - they had so much energy.

I got to take a walk with my daughters the other day. The older one on roller skates, the younger on her bicycle kept them at about the same pace and I was able to keep up without much trouble. I'm back to about 99% after the surgery. I still have some pain, but it's so much better. I want to get back to exercising somehow, but still have at least another week until I can "safely" do that.

Quote of the day, from my youngest daughter, "That's one big mother!" This was her comment about the huge picture she had drawn of my wife on the white-board in my office. She's so funny.
