More spiritual than God?

I read a short excerpt from Bonhoeffer’s Psalms: Prayer Book of the Bible this morning. He suggested that when we try to push aside everyday, ordinary life as “unspiritual” we are subtly, maybe even unintentionally, yet in reality trying to become “more spiritual than God Himself”. A couple of questions I asked myself: Do I do that in any part of my life? How have I done that in the past? How have I seen it done recently? If God is in every moment, then none of them would be unspiritual. By pretending that one moment is more spiritual than another is to say that even God is doing it incorrectly…
