A win, a loss, a healing, a journey

The win of the weekend: FC Bayern-Munchen 2:1 VfL Wolfsburg. Finally off their little skid...

Loss of the year: Arsenal 1:2 Chelsea. Offside goal and plenty of shenanigans from the blues...

My kids are both recovering from a week-long bout with strep. That's huge. It's been a long week, but I'm ecstatic that their fevers are finally down and they can get back to normal.

Anyone for a trip to Northern Ireland soon?

non-sans

Ever had a weird desire to read my journal? Here's your chance... I already read it aloud to Trevor, so why can't you read it, too?

Yesterday was a really good day. Not sans-irritation. Just good. I still got stuck in traffic. My plans got shuffled about and adjusted. My girls listened sometimes, sometimes not. Some people clearly valued me, others didn't. I had my share of frustration but instead of trying to feel better I asked God to help me as I experienced it. Thank You, Lord, for ministering to my heart in the midst of every-day life. Keep doing this healing work. I pray it in Jesus' name. Amen.

The past few weeks...

I learned to ice-skate. This was along with my daughters. Talk about the blind leading the blind.

My favorite soccer teams have been on a losing/drawing slide. You'd think that picking three top teams in multiple leagues someone would win for you. I had to survive the last weekend on a University of Kentucky Basketball win... I should really seek my value in something more significant.

We took valentines to some nursing home residents. The tears from some and laughter from others made my troubles vanish.

I am still learning that I am a man in desperate need of God.

Some good friends bought my family lunch yesterday. Thank God for all good friends. No - seriously - get on your knees right now... :)
